In Mark 8, we confront the challenging reality of what it truly means to follow Jesus. The 'good news' of the Gospel often appears as 'bad news' to our human understanding, as Jesus calls us to deny ourselves and take up our cross. For it's only in losing ourselves for his sake that we will find our true selves in Christ.
